Pregnancy during the COVID-19 crisis



they do not have current data about the effects of COVID-19 on pregnant women and if pregnant women are at a greater risk of getting the virus compared to the general public.

Due to pregnancy, women experience changes in their body causing them to be vulnerable to contract viral infections. Since COVID-19 is a member of the same family such as influenza, this can be a hazard.


It is a scary thought since this is a new disease and we are still at the stages of learning how it spreads.


Can COVID-19 cause issues for a pregnancy?

We do not know at this time if COVID-19 can cause problems during a pregnancy or affect the health of a baby after birth. - CDC 04/01/2020


Nevertheless it is important for a Mom - to - be, to be extra cautious during this time and protect themselves from getting COVID - 19.


Pregnant women should do the same thing as the general public to avoid the infection.

We can help stop the spread of COVID -19 by taking these precautionary actions.


  • Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough.

  • Avoid people whom are sick. If you are sick, please wear a face mask.

  • Clean yourself by washing your hands with soap and water or alcohol based hand sanitizers. REMINDER: Use hand sanitizer's containing at least 60% alcohol.

  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands. Use gloves if necessary.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces .

  • Most of all, stay at home as much as possible especially if you are feeling sick.

Remember, there is no vaccine to prevent the Coronavirus Disease.

The best way to prevent this is to be cautious being exposed to the virus.
